This presentation identifies the ability of terrorist organizations to conduct a chemical or biological attack in populated areas. This presentation will cover the mechanism of action, accessibility, delivery, and results of a chemical or biological agent. The presentation shows that current laws and regulations are not sufficient enough to prevent terrorist from conducting a mass casualty producing chemical of biological attack. This presentation will use case studies and empirical data to show the simplicity of creating a delivery system that can sufficiently produce a mass casualty event. The presentation will also address planning considerations for such an event. The effects on the Emergency Medical System will be addressed during this presentation as well.
