Although many, if not most, organizations have developed robust strategies and tactics for the mitigation and response to this type of hazard, the nature of the current threat environment is exceptionally complex and dynamic.

Steven Crimando is the founder and principal of Behavioral Science Applications LLC. He is a clinician and educator focused on the human element in disasters, mass violence and other traumatic events. Mr. Crimando is a Certified Threat Manager, a Certified Homeland Protection Professional, and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress (BCETS), as well as a Certified Master Trainer with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security-National Threat Evaluation & Reporting program.
With more than 30 years of experience in the field, Mr. Crimando was deployed to the 9/11 and 1993 World Trade Center attacks, as well as New Jersey’s anthrax screening center and other acts of domestic and international terrorism. He is a published author who is frequently called upon by the media and the courts as an expert in crisis prevention and response. He provides training and support to multinational businesses, and state and federal law enforcement, intelligence and military agencies, as well as NGO’s, such as the United Nations.
