This session takes a deep dive on building a resume utilizing the SPAR technique (Situation, Problem, Actions, and Results) to better understand your individual core strengths.
Description
Internet, job boards, artificial intelligence and automation now dominate the candidate screening and hiring process. Further, there have been advancements in methodologies to create a more personal and accurate resume and “personal brand”. This session takes a deep dive on building a resume that translates directly to “talking points” by utilizing the SPAR technique (Situation, Problem, Actions, and Results) to better understand your individual core strengths. Participants will participate in developing a SPAR methodology by describing when they “nailed it”, and how those experiences translate directly into skill sets. The session will also include resume “dos and don’ts”, alternative forms of resumes, interviewing techniques, and job source options.
Learning Objectives
- A highly interactive working session with the audience on building a resume using the SPAR technique. The technique will be demonstrated using audience contributions and participation.
- Resume “dos and don’ts” reflecting common shortfalls observed by hiring managers, and emphasizing high-value elements such as ASIS Certification and networking platforms.
- Interviewing techniques with a focus on the most common areas of failure, to include an overview of Emotional Intelligence concepts.
