Brian Finch, a Pillsbury Public Policy partner with extensive regulatory and government affairs advocacy experience, is a recognized authority on global security and cybersecurity threats.
Based in Washington, DC, Brian provides strategic legal counsel to companies from nearly every industry regarding regulatory issues, cyberattacks, national defense and intelligence policies, and homeland security concerns. He has helped more than 150 clients take advantage of SAFETY Act liability protections following terrorist or cyberattacks and has testified before the U.S. Congress regarding the Act’s provisions. Brian advises on risk mitigation tactics, minimizing post-event negative consequences, and litigation strategies.
Eddie Sorrells, CPP, PSP, PCI, DSI Security Services
Eddie Sorrells, CPP, PSP, PCI, serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for DSI Security Services located in Dothan, Alabama. DSI is a leading security provider in the Southeast United States with over 3500 employees in 25 different states.
Eddie has over 28 years of security experience and is a frequent speaker on topics such as workplace violence, physical security, employment law, workplace investigations, and other security and business topics. He is the author of ASIS International’s White Paper “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s Impact on the Contract Security Services Industry” and has been a published author in Security Management Magazine. Eddie has also been featured in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Security Management Magazine commenting on important issues concerning the private security industry.
Eddie released his first book in 2015: Security Litigation: Best Practices for Managing and Preventing Security-Related Lawsuits. The book provides practical guidance and examples on how to deal with the most difficult legal issues that security executives face every day, while also exploring the key issues that occur before, during, and after a lawsuit.
He holds a BS degree from Troy University and a Juris Doctorate from Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama and the United States District Court, Middle District of Alabama. He holds the CPP (Certified Protection Professional) Board Certification in Security Management, PSP Certification (Physical Security Professional), and PCI Certification (Professional Certified Investigator) He serves as a board member for NASCO (National Association of Security Companies), is a Past Chair of the Security Services Council and is a current Council Vice President (CVP) for ASIS International.
