Failing to plan is planning to fail. Learn emergency management practices, relationships, responsibilities, and general strategic considerations for multi-location organizations integrating emergency management plans and processes.
Emergency operations plans need to address a wide variety of hazards and incidents- active assailant, weather incidents, and even pandemics. The goal is to sustain and support the organization's mission before, during, and after an incident. Plans must be detailed and comprehensive in nature. They must address readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery. Using organizations, schools, and houses of worship as examples, this session, originally presented at GSX 2019, provides a recommended approach as well as the structure and tools needed to develop a plan designed to mitigate, prepare for, prevent, respond to, and recover from emergency incidents.
