Learn situational awareness best practice to effectively observe, interpret, and predict situational outcomes.
Full Description
Situational awareness is more than see something, say something. Situational Awareness requires observation (seeing something), but it also requires an interpretation of what has been observed. This interpretation can then allow for prediction of potential outcomes. The better the observer’s expertise on what has been observed, the more effective the interpretation and prediction.Imagine an active assailant attack as an “X” on a timeline. Everything after “X” is response and starts after the first gunshot. Everything before “X” is an opportunity to prevent or at least mitigate the attack. ALICE training builds a powerful platform of expertise, this session will highlight ways to enhance Situational Awareness to help identify Pre-Attack INdicators (PAINs) and make ALICE training even more effective.
