This webinar provides practical tools and examples on developing an organizational strategy for your security team. The speakers combine decades of experience as current and former CSOs to share their successes (and failures) in developing and implementing organizational strategies in their respective organizations. Participants will learn how to leverage their organizations' board level risks as a basis for their strategy and see how battle-tested tools like a stakeholder matrix, advocate/adversary charts, and program maturity models can be used to develop a succinct 4-to-5-point strategy. Participants will gain valuable insight and practical methods to use in their organizations.

Mark Lex - TorchStone Global, Sr. Vice President
Mark Lex is currently Senior Vice President for TorchStone Global, a security risk advisory firm, and serves on the senior leadership team. Mr. Lex is a performance driven security executive with over 35 years of security industry experience to include 15 years as the senior security executive for three separate Fortune 250 companies that include Abbott, WW Grainger, and Kraft Foods. Mr. Lex served as an emeritus faculty member with the Security Executive Council for nearly 10 years. Mr. Lex has a track record of success in steering development and deployment of top-level security programs.
Before joining the corporate ranks, Mr. Lex owned and operated several different investigative agencies and security officer companies in suburban Chicago. Most recently, Mark held the position of Director of Security for PayPal responsible for Governance, Risk, and Administration.
Mark holds a Bachelors' Degree from Western Illinois University in Law Enforcement and Political Science and received his master’s degree in security management from Webster University where he was named as a distinguished graduate. Mr. Lex also received a certificate from the Kellogg School of Management Executive Program for completing the ISMA-Senior Executive Leadership Program. Mark has served as adjunct faculty in Webster's graduate program and has been on the curriculum advisory boards for both Western Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Security Management Association (ISMA) and as past Chair of the Food Defense & Agricultural Security Council of ASIS International. His industry involvement has included Law Enforcement Liaison for the Coupon Information Corporation (CIC), as the Vice Chair for the Grocery Manufacturers Association Food Defense Committee, and as an Advisory Board member for Michigan State University's A-CAPP program and a member of the DHS Food and Agricultural Sector Coordinating Council.
Mr. Lindahl began his Kellogg career in 2008. Previously, he was the Corporate Loss Prevention and Business Continuity Planning Manager at Ace Hardware Corporation. He has held previous security and loss prevention positions in the retail, financial, and manufacturing industries.
Mr. Lindahl holds the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation ASIS International, demonstrating that he is Board Certified in Security Management. He holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Mac Murray College and a master's degree in Criminal Justice with concentration in Security Management from Michigan State University. He studies have included completion of the International Security Management Association (ISMA) leadership and executive programs at Georgetown University and Northwestern University.
