Description
Fighting terrorism is the biggest challenge the world is facing. There have been many events in the history involving terrorist attacks in different parts of the world in different forms.
As a response to the 9/11 attacks, the International Ship and Port Security code (ISPS) came into force 1 July 2004.
The code provides a framework through which ships and port facilities can co-operate to detect and deter acts which pose a threat to maritime security. The Code: enables the detection and deterrence of security threats within an international framework establishes roles and responsibilities.

Majed Aba Alkhail holds a Bachelor degree in naval science from Chinese Naval Academy (Taiwan), and Master degree in building science and technology. He served in the Saudi Border Guard as a naval officer for more than 31 years and retired as a commodore, and has diversified experience in navigation, rescuing, security training and he works as a security consultant with Amnoon Security Consulting office.
