Mike Clayton

For almost thirty years, Mike Clayton has been directly involved with the security industry. Mike has spent a great deal of time in Latin America, he is fluent in Spanish, and has extensive knowledge of the Latin American culture.

Mike has recruited, trained, and supervised consultants that have, in addition to Kidnap for Ransom (K&R) management, managed extortion cases, provided executive protection services and K&R preventive training, event security for large and small groups, due diligence services, and discreet investigations services throughout the world under his leadership.

While working in a hands-on manner with corporate leaders and families of kidnap or extortion victims, Mike has provided leadership in guiding crisis management teams in following appropriate experience-tested recommendations during crises.

Mark Courtney

Mark Courtney is a global risk management specialist and futurist based in South Africa. His reputation as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies is based on more than 30 years of crisis management in some of the world’s most unpredictable and hostile environments.

Mark was the Africa based responder for Clayton Consultants and later on with Terra Firma Risk Management. Mark became a member of the South African Police Reserve in 1989 and retired as Head of the elite Endangered Species Protection Unit Reserve with the rank of Captain. The ESPU’s mandate was to protect national fauna, flora and significant artefacts targeted by foreign syndicates. This included counter poaching duties in National Parks, covert surveillance and investigations. He has been an international speaker since 2001 addressing amongst other organizations The Energy Security Council (Houston, USA) on Kidnapping in Africa and ASIS International on Kidnapping and Terrorism Threats (San Diego, USA), Kidnapping and Security Threats in Africa (Paris, France) and The Risk to Business in Africa (Beijing, China). His specialty is predicting potential threats and planning for mitigation.

Mark draws on his extensive experience and global network to prepare for and respond to the unexpected. Mark is the recipient of a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship Award for outstanding community service.

Patricia G. Coureas, CPP

Patricia has a global background in high-risk, complex domestic and international environments with both Government and private-sector experience. Patricia served 30 years as an FBI Special Agent and Assistant Legal Attaché in Greece conducting criminal, counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations as well as building relationships with principal law enforcement and security services around the globe to ensure a continuous exchange of information with host countries. Patricia has experience delivering innovative strategic solutions to build threat detection, increase response capabilities around Enterprise Risk Management, Asset Protection and Intellectual Property Protection, Cybersecurity and Workplace Violence Prevention. Patricia has demonstrated success in addressing problems by identifying the root causes impacting a desired result and implementing solutions to mitigate the causes in order to ensure the strategic and financial benefit to the business. Patricia is passionate about continuous, incremental improvements to services or processes through constant review, analysis and action resulting in improved customer satisfaction and improved efficiency, productivity and profit.

In April, 2022, Patricia earned her credential as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and maintains an active role in American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) through her involvement in the Crisis Management and Business Continuity, Critical Infrastructure, Enterprise Security Risk Management, Professional Development and Women in Security Communities.
